Highlights from Hamilton Select Board (MA)

The Hamilton Select Board debates appointing a new Zoning Board of Appeals member, balancing the town’s long-standing character with a newcomer’s moderate views on growth. Members unpack the differences between full and associate roles, quorum challenges on a three-member board, and new open meeting law limits before agreeing on a trial associate term for the appointee.

The Hamilton Select Board reviews key details for the upcoming primary election and mail-in ballots, hears how the Asbury Common housing lottery will prioritize local applicants, and debates new rules for who can buy cemetery plots. The board also notes ongoing vacancies on town committees, raises concerns about sign enforcement and free speech, and flags trash and recycling issues affecting downtown businesses.
