Highlights from Springfield City Council

The council addressed persistent issues with vacant and neglected properties across Springfield, hears urgent calls for a youth mental health crisis center, and listened to concerns about the decline of downtown businesses and the prolonged closure of the Wyndham hotel.

The council approved a new grant program to help homeowners in two east side TIF districts after a spirited debate on funding, equity, and barriers to access.
